Whether you have been out with us before or this is your first trip with us, we thought we’d give you some ideas on what to wear on your sea safari trip!
Must brings:
- ✅ Warm layers
- ✅ Waterproof coats (and trousers if you have them)
- ✅ Comfortable and sturdy shoes
Optionals:
- ❄️ Wooly hat and gloves
- 🧢 Sun hat (clipped onto clothing)
- ☀️ Sun cream
- 📷 Camera
- 😎 Sunglasses
Binoculars
Please don’t wear:
- 👠 Heels – save these for the dancing afterwards!
Wetsuits – you can keep this dry for your sea swim later!
Life jackets are provided and waterproof trousers and jackets are available to borrow, however, you will need extra layers to keep you warm as it gets quite cold out on the water even if it’s a very hot day onshore! A wooly hat and gloves are also a great idea if you feel the cold!
On sunny days if you would like to wear a cap we would recommend attaching this to an item of clothing with a clip as these can quickly go flying as we’re travelling into the wind at 20 knots! We would also recommend wearing sun cream to stay protected from the sun whilst out on the water.
Sensible flat shoes such as boots or trainers are great and comfortable. Please don’t wear heels as not only are these likely to be uncomfortable but may also damage the boat as you board.
If you would like to wear waterproof trousers or are on our boat with jockey seats you may find wearing shorts or trousers more comfortable than a skirt or dress.
Please save your wetsuits for swimming and surfing, you don’t need this on the boat! Dry robes are welcome as a warm layer but please be aware we have found they are not particularly waterproof when exposed to sea spray and rain on our trips!

Can I bring my camera onboard?
You are welcome to bring your camera on board if you would like to take photos to keep memories of your trip! Although please make sure this is suitably protected as depending on the sea and weather conditions our boats can get very wet and bouncy!
What should I do with my Bag?
You are welcome to bring your bag onboard with you and we would encourage you to bring a waterproof bag if you have one available – particularly on wetter days! If you don’t want to bring your bag with you, we would recommend leaving it in your car. If there are any small items you are desperate to leave behind, you can leave these in the office but we would generally encourage you to keep your belongings on your person.
Will I get wet?
We do not get wet on every trip, but our open RIBs are exposed to the elements, and on windy days chances of sea spray are much greater. Basically, the windier it is, the wetter you may get! We do recommend a waterproof jacket if you have one, at least to keep the wind off and keep you warm (it gets cold out at sea even on warmer days). We have waterproof tops and trousers you may use if it looks like a wet day.
What if it’s raining?
Our trips still run on rainy days. Rain does not deter the marine life (they are wet anyway!) so we simply wrap up in waterproofs and go for it! Please dress extra warm on rainy days with lots of layers to avoid getting cold. If you would prefer not to go out on a rainy day, please keep an eye on the weather and you may cancel your booking yourself. As long as we receive at least 48 hours notice, we can issue you with a full refund.
